Samsung Electronics has refreshed its ‘Galaxy Tab’ tablet line with the launch of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) series in Vietnam. The slate is available in both Wi-Fi only (SM-T380) and 4G LTE (SM-T385) models, boots Android 7.1 Nougat OS and is powered by a Quad-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 Mobile Platform clocked at 1.4GHz.
Housed in a full metal body, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) features a 8-inch (1280 x 800 pixels) WXGA TFT display and depends on a long lasting 5,000 mAh battery that provides up to 14 hours of video playback time. It packs 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage space (expandable up to 256GB via microSD).
In the camera segment, there is a rear placed 8MP AF camera with LED flash and f/1.9 aperture, along with a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and video calls. Connectivity options on the device include: Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.1.1 a/b/g/n (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 4.2 and GPS + GLONASS / Beidou.
The 4G LTE model of the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 (2017) has support for both the connectivity and voice calling. It measures 212.1 x 124.1 x 8.9 mm in dimensions, weighs 364 grams and comes in Black and Gold colour options. It is currently on sale in Vietnam for a price tag starting at VND 6,490,000 (US$ 286) for the LTE model.
