Samsung has announced the 2016 edition of the Galaxy Tab A tablet (10.1-inch) with couple of upgrades and features. The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 is available in two versions – the Wi-Fi only variant (SM-T850) costs €259 while the Wi-Fi + LTE variant costs EUR 349.
Measuring 155.3 x 254.2 x 8.2mm in dimensions and weighing in at 525grams; the Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS running Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 sports a 10.1-inch TFT PLS display with (1920 x 1200 pixels) WUXGA screen resolution and is backed by a 7300mAh Battery.
Under the hood, it is powered by the octa-core Exynos 7870 processor clocked at 1.6GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in storage out of which 9.2GB is available to the user but there is a microSD card slot for storage expansion up to 200GB. The LTE variant supports 2G, 3G and 4G (LTE Cat.4) networks.
Other connectivity options onboard includes – Dual-Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, Bluetooth 4.2, USB 2.0 and GPS + GLONASS/Beidou. For photography, there is a rear facing 8MP AutoFocus camera with F/1.9 aperture and LED flash while the front camera is a 2MP snapper with f/2.2 aperture.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab A 10.1 2016 come pre-loaded with software features such as Kids Mode 4.0 and the Multi-User Mode which supports up to 8 different user profile. The slate will be available next month (Early June) in Black and White colours for the aforementioned prices above.
