Samsung has announced that its two Galaxy Tab A series of tablets would be landing in the US on May 1 which is just weeks away. Both the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.0 and Galaxy Tab A 9.7 were quietly announced last month in an event in Russia.
Both Samsung Galaxy Tab A Series tablets are available in two display sizes – 8-inch and 9.7-inch. Both device has similar specs but differs in terms of RAM and battery capacity; the 8-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A has 1.5GB of RAM and 4200mAh battery while the 9.7-inch Samsung Galaxy Tab A has 2GB of RAM (also has 1.5GB of RAM) and 6000mAh battery.
Other specs details – both display size has 1024 x 768 pixels resolution, 4:3 aspect ratio and measures 7.5mm thin. Under the hood, both are powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor (likely Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor), 16GB sapce of internal storage, 5MP rear camera, 2MP front camera, Wi-Fi, GPS, Bluetooth and runs on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS. Microsoft Office for Android are also bundled and 100GB free OneDrive cloud storage for 2 years.
Both tablets are already available for pre-orders from Samsung Online store and retailers like Best Buy, Amazon, HH Gregg, and others. Smoky Blue, Smoky Titanium and White are the available colour options. The Galaxy Tab A 8.0 costs $229.99 and the Galaxy Tab A 9.7 costs $299.99 and starts selling May 1. Those who are interested in a Stylus version, the Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 with Stylus would start selling on May 17 for $349.99.
