Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab Active, a rugged edition of its Galaxy Tab 4 8.0 for enterprise customers and those who like to get tough on their devices.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab Active has almost the same specs as the Galaxy Tab 4 but it has additional features which makes it stand out. The device would survive being dropped as high as 1.2metres due to its anti-shock covering and is dust + water resistant (IP67 certified).
The rugged slate comes with a stylus pen dubbed C Pen, which could be used as an alternative to touching the display. The Galaxy Tab Active has a 8.0-inch WXGA (1280×800 pixels) resolution LCD display, quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor clocked at 1.2GHz and 1.5GB of RAM.
Other include – 16GB internal memory, a microSD card slot for expansion up to 128GB, rear facing 3.1MP camera front facing 1.3MP camera, removable 4,450mAh battery and Android 4.4 KitKat OS.
The Galaxy Tab Active would come in Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi+LTE versions; only in Titanium Green Color. No word on pricing and availability yet. The device is expected to come bundled with the Protective cover and C Pen.
