An unannounced Samsung tablet has surfaced in Taiwan – the Samsung Galaxy Tab E as the tablet is known is listed by local Carrier – Taiwan Mobile in its June catalogue of devices. The tablet is however not listed by the South Korean company on its website.
The low-end Galaxy Tab E tablet has the model number – SM-T560 and is one of the names Samsung trademarked early this year alongside the Samsung Galaxy Tab A and the Samsung Galaxy Tab J names.
Talking about the specs, the Samsung Galaxy Tab E (SM-T560) has a 9.6-inch (1260 x 768 pixels) WXGA LCD multitouch display with a pixel density of 157ppi. It is powered by an unnamed quad-core CPU clocked at 1.3GHz with 1.5GB RAM and 8GB expandable built-in storage space.
There is a rear facing 5-megapixels camera and front facing 2-megapixels camera on-board. The version listed is the Wi-Fi version but the company could have a cellular model in store. The slate boots an unknown version of Android OS and is expected to cost a whopping $690 US dollars.
There is no word on if the tablet is a Taiwan exclusive or it would be targeted as the Asian market only. We will wait for the official announcement to know more about the slate.
