Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab J tablet in Taiwan. The budget level tablet which looks similar to the India-bound Samsung Galaxy J Max, will be available in August for a price tag equivalent to $185 USD and the colour options are either Gold or White.
Backed by a 4000mAh battery which the company estimates to last up to 9 hours of mixed moderate usage and running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS instead of the more recent Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS; the Samsung Galaxy J sports a 7-inch PLS display with 1280 x 800 pixels screen resolution.
Measuring 8.7 mm thick and weighing in at 298 grams, the tablet is more of a phablet with voice calling capabilities thanks to the presence of a SIM/Dual SIM slots and support for 4G LTE connectivity. Other connectivity options includes – Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and FM Radio.
A peek on the inside shows a 1.5GHz quad-core processor paired with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage, which is expandable up to 200GB via microSD. The Samsung Galaxy J also excels in the camera department with a front facing 2MP camera and rear placed 8MP f/1.9 camera with LED flash.
Other features includes – Smart Switch and Kids Mode 4.0, where the MOMO School App will be free to download for owners until June 2018.
