Samsung confirmed the launch of its first (and world’s first) 5G tablet – the Galaxy Tab S6 5G in South Korea. The new tablet, which is basically the 5G variant of the existing Tab S6, has gone on sale in South Korea for a price tag starting at KRW 999,900 (~US$ 850 or ~AU$ 1,250). The company is also offering various sales benefits including free Samsung Book Cover keyboard for customers who make purchases by March 31.
The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 5G is still based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 mobile platform but the X24 LTE modem has been replaced with the Snapdragon X50 5G modem. The specs are nearly identical to the standard Tab S6 with a 10.5-inch QHD+ Super AMOLED display, four AKG-tuned speakers with Dolby Atmos, 13MP (wide) + 5MP (ultra-wide) dual rear cameras, 8MP front camera and 7,400mAh battery with 15W fast charging.
The tablet will come with an upgraded S Pen and different productivity features such as Bluetooth Remote function and support for gesture control. Samsung is offering a single configuration of 6GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage, and Mountain Gray colour only. There is no word on availability in global markets yet.
