Samsung has sent out invites for its first major smartphone launch event of the year. The Galaxy Unpacked 2021 is scheduled to hold on Samsung.com, Samsung Newsroom (global) at 10am EST / 7am PST / 3pm GMT on Thursday, January 14, 2021. In Australia, the event will happen the following day, Friday 2am AEDT in Sydney and Melbourne.
As earlier predicted, the Galaxy Unpacked 2021 is expected to see the launch of the new Samsung Galaxy S21 series smartphones alongside the Galaxy Buds pro and SmartTag Bluetooth Tracker. The S21 line-up, which is expected to include the S21 (6.2-inch display), S21+ (6.7-inch display) and S21 Ultra (6.8-inch display), is the direct successor to the Galaxy S20, S20+ and S20 Ultra.
The S21 and S21+ will have a triple rear camera configuration which is made up of 12MP (f/1.8) primary + 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide + 64MP (f/2.0) telephoto sensors as well as a 10MP (f/2.2) selfie camera. While the Ultra will have a quad configuration made up of a 108MP (f/1.8) primary + 12MP (f/2.2) ultra-wide + 10MP (f/2.4) telephoto + 10MP (f/2.9) telephoto sensors as well as a 40MP (f/2.2) selfie camera. All three should be powered by either the Exynos 2100 or Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processors.
