Samsung unveiled two new accessories – the Galaxy Watch 3 premium smartwatch and Galaxy Buds Live truly wireless earbuds alongside the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ tablets, Galaxy Z Fold 2, and Galaxy Note 20 smartphones at the Galaxy Unpacked 2020 virtual-only event. Both accessories are available in select markets starting from August 6.
Samsung Galaxy Watch 3
The Galaxy Watch 3 is built with premium materials – High-Quality Leather, Stainless Steel and Titanium and arrives in three colour choices – Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze and Mystic Silver. It has 41mm (1.2-inch screen & 247mAh battery) and 45mm (1.4-inch screen & 340mAh battery) diameter watch faces, slimmed down rotating bezel and in terms of size, it is 14% thinner, 8% smaller and 15% lighter than the original Galaxy Watch.
The smartwatch combines health and wellness features starting with the Blood oxygen (SpO2) feature for measuring Oxygen saturation over time and the Samsung Health Monitor app will have blood pressure (BP) monitoring and electrocardiogram (ECG) readings in approved markets. It also identifies when a fall is about to happen and send a SOS messages to pre-designated contacts.
Other notable features include Running analysis, VO2 max readings, access to 120 different video workouts, new sleep score and insights, and sleep management. It is compatible with other galaxy devices including the new Galaxy Note 20 series to amplify and control mobile experiences. There are also LTE variants available in select markets and the Galaxy Watch Titanium variant will arrive later this year.
Samsung Galaxy Buds Live
Shaped in the form of a bean seed, the Samsung Galaxy Buds Live combines AKG’s sound expertise with a 12mm speaker, bass duct, 3x microphones (2x outer and 1x inner), Voice Pickup Unit, and active noise cancellation (ANC) technology to tune out the outside noise. Users can share music with one another with the new Buds Together feature. The earbuds also pack features such as Bixby voice wake-up and intuitive touch-based PUI (physical user interface) for touch controls.
The Galaxy Buds Live connects to Android and iOS devices, and at full charge, it last 6 hours of playback time. With only 5 minutes of charge, it lasts at least 1 hour of play time and the charging case provides up to 15 hours of additional charge over multiple charges. It is available in Bluetooth and LTE variants, and same colour choices as the Galaxy Note 20 series – Mystic Black, Mystic Bronze, Mystic White.
