Samsung Unveil Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro

At its recent UnPacked 2022 event, Samsung Electronics unveiled the Galaxy Watch 5 and Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. They build on the health and wellness features of the Galaxy Watch series; and the Pro is designed with enhanced Sapphire Crystal and durable titanium casing to guarantee maximum durability for outdoor users. There is also a Golf Edition with perks such as unlimited membership access to the Smart Caddie app and different watch faces.

The Samsung Galaxy Watch 5 models feature the brand’s 3-in-1 BioActive Sensor which incorporates the sensors that monitor and gives in depth metrics about the heart rate, blood pressure and Oxygen level, and stress level. There is a new Temperature sensor which taps into these sensors to provide accurate body temperature readings while not being affected by that of the surrounding.Other health tools include Fall Detection and the Body Composition feature, which captures the overall health of the user ranging from fitness activities to rest.

Users also gets insights into their sleeping patterns through Sleep Score; and Sleep Coaching recommends tailored month-long sleeping guides. The Watch 5 has a Sapphire Crystal display protection, lasts up to eight hours of sleep tracking on eight minutes of charging and comes pre-loaded with One UI Watch 4.5. The Watch 5 Pro is designed to withstand the ruggedness of outdoor activities such as hiking and bike riding, hence the presence of enhanced Sapphire Crystal display, durable Titanium casing, and new D-Buckle Sport Band. It also comes with the largest battery yet on a Galaxy Watch – up to 60% larger than the Galaxy Watch 4 as well as features such as Route Workout and Track Back feature.
