Samsung has teamed up with SK Telecom to release the Galaxy J7 2017 as the Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 in their home country. The budget-friendly device, bearing the model number – SM-J727S, is available exclusively from the mobile carrier priced at KRW 297,000 (US$ 266). Local users can get the device for as low as KRW 100,000 (US$ 89) after discounts.

The Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 succeeds last year’s Galaxy Wide and brings a number of upgrades. It sports a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display with 2.5D curved glass protection, rear facing 13MP camera with f/1.9 aperture and LED flash, a front 5MP camera for selfies and a sizeable 3300mAh battery.

On the inside, the device relies on an octa-core Exynos 64-bit processor clocked at 1.66GHz paired with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage space (expandable up to 256GB via microSD card). It boots Android 7.0 Nougat OS with Samsung’s UI on top and ‎arrives with the usual proprietary suite of apps.

The Samsung Galaxy Wide 2 measures 151.5 x 76.4 x 8.6mm in dimensions, weighs 170 grams and ‎is available in two colour options – Black and Silver. There is no word yet on the availability of the Galaxy Wide 2 outside Korea and as at press time, it has not been listed on Samsung’s website.
