Samsung Galaxy Wide Debuts in South Korea via SK Telecom

Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Wide in South Korea. The phablet sized smartphone will be available later this month exclusively via SK Telecom for a price tag of 319,000 Korean Won (US$ 276). The specs of this new device (SM-G600S) are similar with the Samsung Galaxy On7 (SM-G600FY) but comes with slight upgrades.

The Samsung Galaxy Wide packs a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with TouchWiz UI and is backed by a sizeable 3000mAh battery that promises up to 21 hours of continuous talk time on 3G and up to 78 hours of audio playback time. ‎

The device ‎relies on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space.it measures 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2 mm in dimensions, weighs 171 grams and supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks. Connectivity options onboard includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.‎

In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with 120-degree wide angle view for selfies. The Samsung Galaxy Wide comes with the TMB-chip embedded – it allows users access ‎digital terrestrial multimedia broadcasting, a new form of TV Broadcasting that offers better video quality in the region.
