Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy Wide in South Korea. The phablet sized smartphone will be available later this month exclusively via SK Telecom for a price tag of 319,000 Korean Won (US$ 276). The specs of this new device (SM-G600S) are similar with the Samsung Galaxy On7 (SM-G600FY) but comes with slight upgrades.
The Samsung Galaxy Wide packs a 5.5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display, boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS with TouchWiz UI and is backed by a sizeable 3000mAh battery that promises up to 21 hours of continuous talk time on 3G and up to 78 hours of audio playback time.
The device relies on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at along with 2GB of RAM and 16GB built-in expandable storage space.it measures 151.8 x 77.5 x 8.2 mm in dimensions, weighs 171 grams and supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks. Connectivity options onboard includes Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.1 and NFC.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP camera with 120-degree wide angle view for selfies. The Samsung Galaxy Wide comes with the TMB-chip embedded – it allows users access digital terrestrial multimedia broadcasting, a new form of TV Broadcasting that offers better video quality in the region.
