Samsung has announced two new chromebooks designed for Google Play – the Samsung Chromebook Plus and Samsung Chromebook Pro. The new chromebooks combines the productivity and power of a laptop, and the flexibility and versatility of a tablet.
Sporting a new premium-looking lightweight metal design, the Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro offer a 360-degree rotating touchscreen acting both as a notebook & an ultra-mobile tablet, integrated full-size keyboard and trackpad and built-in digitized pen – a first for the Chromebook lineup.
Embedded on the side for secure storage and easy access, the pen has is pre-installed with Google Keep for notetaking and Samsung ArtCanvas for drawing. It also offers benefits such as note taking and on-screen content capture.
Both the Samsung Chromebook Plus and Chromebook Pro sport a 12.3-inch LED display with Touchscreen Panel, 2400 x 1600 pixels screen resolution and 3:2 aspect ratio. The duo packs 4GB of RAM, 32GB built-in storage, 2x USB Type-C Ports with charging support and 4K video output, and a microSD card slot.
The Chromebook Plus is powered by an hexa-core processor made for chromebooks while the Chromebook Pro is powered by Intel’s Core M3 6Y30 processor. The listing claims the chromebooks will last up to 8 hours of usage. The Chromebook Plus will be available starting February for $449.
