Samsung Electronics has launched what it calls the most immersive Windows Mixed Reality (MR) headset in the market, the Samsung HMD Odyssey. The headset will go on pre-order in the US only on October 3rd and will also be available in China, Korea, Brazil and Hong Kong.
Designed in partnership with Microsoft, the Samsung HMD Odyssey promises to deliver a premium virtual reality experience, with superior picture quality and the highest resolution display taking consumers to entirely new virtual limits.
It features dual 3.5-inch AMOLED displays with 110-degree field of view, 360° Spatial Sound, integrated AKG premium headphones, adjustable control wheel, two precision motion controllers and array mics for voice commands. Once connected to the PC, the head-mounted headset is ready to use.
It also comes with inside-out position tracking and Six Degrees of Freedom1 (6 DOF) sensor for intuitive and natural movements.
