Samsung Electronics and Microsoft have teamed up once-again to refresh their joint Windows Mixed Reality headset line with the HMD Odyssey+. This updated model is available for $499.99 – the same price as the original HMD Odyssey and comes with minor tweaks.
The Samsung HMD Odyssey+ has the same dual 3.5-inch AMOLED screens with a combined resolution of 1440 x 1600 per eye and 110° viewing angle. It features an Anti-Screen Door Effect (Anti-SDE) tech which improves the pixelation and increase the PPI from 616 ppi in the previous model to 1,233 ppi.
The nose guard has been widened from 32mm to 40mm and the eye box has widened from 138mm to 146mm. A new Inter-Pupillary Distance (IPD) wheel has been added to adjust the distance between the lenses to better fit the eyes and anti-fog material for the face padding.
It also comes with built-in headphones tuned by AKG, 360-degree spatial sound and 2 x 6DOF controllers. The Samsung HMD Odyssey+ is available at Microsoft US Store and Samsung.com. Availability will be extended to other regions including Brazil, China, Hong Kong and Korea.
