Samsung is currently one of the last breed of smartphone makers to release devices with no notch on its slim bezels. However, this theory seems to be changing soon. Before announcing the Infinity Flex and One UI, the company showed off new ‘Infinity Display’ design concepts – the Infinity-U, Infinity-V, Infinity-O and New Infinity at the Samsung Developers Conference (SDC) 2018.
Building on the Infinity displays used on the Galaxy S8/S9 and Galaxy Note 8/Note 9, Samsung plans to continue to thin-out the bezels on its displays. The first two are regular notches shaped in U and V style while the third is a O-shape cut on the left hand side of the top display.
The last ‘New Infinity’ display does not have any visible hole or notch. It could reportedly feature the rumoured an in-display front camera, in-display fingerprint sensor, screen sound and sensors. There is no word on when Galaxy smartphones with these new Infinity Display types will go official.
