Samsung has officially launched the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in Nigeria. The futuristic-looking phablet sized device was announced at a Media briefing in Lagos, Nigeria.
Commenting on the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in Nigeria, Director of Hand Held Products for Samsung Electronics West Africa, Mr. Emmanouil Revmatas said;
“Two years ago, we took a decision to deliver a superior display technology, great camera and best-in-class design, which led to the coming on stream of the S6 Edge. The dual edge design was like nothing else out there and the curved display resonated with our customers.
Now, we are bringing everything you love to a big screen by improving on the features and design. The display is sharp, brilliant and the curve creates an added sense of depth. Due to the high definition screen, the colours are deep, rich and vibrant.”
The Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ is a phablet version of the Galaxy S6 Edge with some additional features added. The device combines a mixture of metal and glass giving it a premium look and the Dual Edge display makes the device look futuristic. It would be available in White Pearl, Black Sapphire, Gold Platinum and Silver Titanium colour options.
The device sports a 5.7-inch Quad HD Super AMOLED display (dual edge), powered by an octa-core Exynos 7420 processor paired with 4GB of RAM, either 32GB or 64GB internal storage options, 16MP rear camera, front 5MP camera, 4G LTE connectivity, runs Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS and 3000mAh battery with fast wireless charging features.
To show that the Dual Edge display of the Galaxy S6 Edge+ is not for show, there are features like People Edge, Edge Lighting and Information Stream. Being market as a multimedia based device, with the Live Broadcast feature, users can stream event live from their phones to youtube.
This markets the first time the company is making a plus version of a Galaxy S device and the phablet was officially announced on August 13th along with the Samsung Galaxy Note5. There is no word on pricing of the Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge+ in Nigeria but prepare to have between N160,000 and N180 to get your hands on one of this.
