Samsung has officially announced the Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 in India. Both smartphones are on record as the first smartphone(s) from Samsung with a front facing LED flash. The 5-inch sized Galaxy J5 costs Rs 11999 ($189) and the 5.5-inch Galaxy J7 costs Rs 14999 ($234).
There are some additional perks to enjoy along when purchasing the device – you get free Double Data from Airtel on 4G networks for 6 months, $50 worth of in app purchases for Gameloft and a flip case which sells for $16 would be reduced to around $3 when purched along with it. Registrations for the device starts July 23 exclusively on FlipKart.
The Samsung Galaxy J5 has a 5-inch HD display and is powered by a quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon 410 SoC clocked at 1.2GHz while the Samsung Galaxy J7 has a 5.5-inch HD display and is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm snapdragon 615 processor clocked at 1.5GHz.
The rest of their specs are pretty much the same – 1.5GB of RAM, 16GB space of internal storage, a microSD card slot for storage expansion (up to 128GB), front facing 5MP camera with LED flash and a rear facing 13MP camera with LED flash.
Both the Samsung Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 support 4G LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS; comes with Dual SIM slots and come pre-installed with Android 5.1 Lollipop OS.
