Samsung to sell the Refurbished Galaxy Note 7 as Galaxy Note FE in South Korea

‎Samsung Mobiles is no longer expected to launch the revival of its ill-fated Galaxy Note 7 flagship as the Galaxy Note 7R. While the device will have a huge ‘R’ etched into the back, it is now expected to go on sale in South Korea as the Galaxy Note FE or Fandom Edition (not Fire Edition) to revive the phone’s image.

According to multiple sources, the Samsung Galaxy Note FE will be available in the Korean market later this month (June) through three of the nation’s major carriers (LG+, KT and SKT). It is priced at KRW 699,000 (US$ 626) which is lower than how much the Galaxy Note 5 (KRW 800,000) sells for there.

‎Only 300,000 units of the FE will be on sale and the device will come pre-loaded with Android Nougat OS as well as a smaller 3,200mAh battery capacity. The rest of the internals such as the 5.7-inch display, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, rear 12MP Dual Pixel camera and Exynos 8890 CPU, are all expected to stay the same. ‎

At the moment, there is no information regarding any launch outside its home country. ‎Markets such as US and Canada are unlikely expected to get the Galaxy Note FE in the long run. The company is reportedly working on its the Galaxy Note 8, which could launch before or during the IFA 2017. ‎
