Samsung is reportedly set to extent its A Series of smartphone with the company set to announce a device with the model number SM-A500 with the design similar to the recently launched premium metal-clad Samsung Galaxy Alpha. Asides the device with a model number SM-A500, there are other devices with the model number SM-A300 and SM-A700.
The Samsung SM-A500 is reportedly also made of metal chassis but this time a full metal body and Samsung has ditched its faux leather removable back for a non-removable metal back cover. The device is reportedly set to feature a 5-inch (1280 × 720) Super AMOLED HD display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 8MP rear camera, 5MP front camera and 16GB inbuilt storage.
The device is said to run on Android 4.4.4 Kitkat OS and will feature a hybrid slot (SIM card slot + MicroSD card slot) where a SIM card or a MicroSDXC card can be inserted. Both the Fingerprint sensor and heart rate sensor synonymous with the Samsung Galaxy S5 is absent on the SM-A500 and the device is also not Dust and Water resistant. Though the device is said to feature the Ultra Power Saving Mode option.
The Samsung SM-A300 on the other hand, has also been spotted on GFXBench, though listed as the SM-A3000 would feature a 4.8-inch (960 x 540 pixels) Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon with Adreno 306 GPU, 1GB of RAM, 5GB of internal memory, 7MP rear camera, 5MP camera and run on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS.
Not much is known about the SM-A700 smartphone except that it would feature a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD Super AMOLED display. The three devices are expected to launch before the end of the year.
