Last month, reports of a new Galaxy C series device – the Samsung SM-C9000 (Galaxy C9) began making rounds in the news. The phablet sized device is expected to slot in ahead of the Samsung Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7, which are sold in China and its special administrative regions (SAR) – Hong Kong and Macao.
The Samsung SM-C9000 has been sent for testing in India and was spotted on the country’s import and export data site, Zauba. The device is equipped with a 6.0-inch display like the Samsung Galaxy A9 and could have both the metal design and build of the current China-exclusive Galaxy C series devices.
Judging by the predecessor and the rumour mill, the SM-C9000 (Galaxy C9) will have a Full HD screen resolution and run Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow OS. It should also pack a higher Qualcomm processor, bigger storage space, increased battery capacity and a higher price tag compared to the Galaxy C5 and Galaxy C7.
The rest of the specs are expected to be similar to the C5 and C7 – 4GB of RAM, Dual SIM slots, Samsung’s Ultra High Quality Audio (UQHA), 16MP main camera with f/1.9 aperture, front 8MP selfie camera and 4G LTE connectivity.
We will bring more information when there is any official confirmation or credible leaks to report.
