Samsung SM-G9198 with SD 808 SoC shows up on Benchmark listing; could it be the Galaxy S6 Mini?

A new Samsung smartphone with the model number – Samsung SM-G9198 has been put through its paces on benchmark website, GFXBench. The Samsung SM-G9198 is tipped to the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini (or at least a member of the Galaxy family) and is powered by the Snapdragon 808 processor, the same used on the LG G4. The choice of the hexa-core processor means it would be a power house.

The listing shows the Samsung SM-G9198 sports a 4.6-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and is powered by an Hexa-core  Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor (2x Cortex-A57 and 4x Cortex-A53) clocked at 1.8GHz with Adreno 418 GPU and runs on Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS. 2GB of RAM is available to handle tasks and there is 16GB space of internal storage out of which 11GB is user available.

The front camera on the device is a 5MP snapper for selfies and the rear camera is a 16MP AutoFocus snapper with LED flash; both cameras record FHD (1080p) videos. The device makes do with a host of connectivity and sensor options such as – NFC, Compass, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, Barometer and Gyroscope.

LG has just only announced the LG G4 and almost immediately it already has two variants – the LG G4 Stylus and the LG G4c. So it is okay to believe the Samsung SM-G9198 is the Samsung Galaxy S6 Mini. A launch date shouldn’t be far off.
