At the upcoming Unpacked 2016, Samsung is expected to announce the Galaxy S7 and it’s Edge variant – the Galaxy S7 Edge; it looks like the company is hard at work to make them a reality. A new device from Samsung with the model number SM-G935A believed to be the Galaxy S6 Edge successor – the Samsung Galaxy S7 has been spotted on AnTuTu benchmark.
According to the listing, Samsung SM-G935A (Galaxy S7 Edge) is believed to be the version for US carrier – AT&T. The device boots Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box and powered by a Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit processor with Adreno 530 GPU.
It sports a 5.1-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels (Quad HD or 2K) along with 2GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage space. In the camera segment, there is a front facing 5MP camera for selfies & video chats and a rear facing 12MP camera.
The main camera (12MP) is notably smaller than the 16MP on its predecessor – the Galaxy S6 Edge. While the amount of pixels on a camera doesn’t necessarily translate to the best photos, sources believe the f/1.7 aperture used on the camera sensor means it will handle low-light photography better.
Previous rumours of the Samsung SM-G935A / Galaxy S7 Edge coming with a 5.5-inch sized display seems to have been squashed. The company is is expected to keep the bigger screen size for the Samsung Galaxy S7 Plus.
As usual, until the device goes official treat all these as unconfirmed reports.
