Samsung Unveil Galaxy S23, Galaxy S23+ and Galaxy S23 Ultra

The dust has settled on Samsung Electronics’ Galaxy Unpacked 2023 event as expected. The South Korean company unveiled its new premium Galaxy 5G smartphones – the Samsung Galaxy S23, Samsung Galaxy S23+ and Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra. The trio succeed last year’s Samsung Galaxy S22 series – the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra.

The S23 series is powered by the customised Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 Mobile Platform for Galaxy and come pre-loaded with One UI 5.1 (based on Android 13). The exterior is manufactured from recycled materials, and they take the title of the first devices to use the Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 covering. Samsung has also included fast autofocus and Super HDR in the selfie camera as well as tools such as Expert RAW app and Multiple exposures photo art in Astrophoto settings.

The company is also offering four years of OS upgrades, five years of security updates and four colour choices – Cream, Green, Lavender, and Phantom Black are the available colour options.

Samsung Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+

The Galaxy S23 and Galaxy S23+ are closer in features than the Galaxy S23 Ultra. They have respective 6.1-inch and 6.6-inch displays with FHD+ resolution, 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate. Photography is handled by the same triple camera system – a 50 MP (f/1.8) Wide Camera, 12MP (f/2.2) Ultra-Wide Camera and 10MP (f/2.4) Telephoto Camera.

The rest of the specs include a 12MP (f/2.2) selfie camera, IP68 rating, Bluetooth 5.3, and Wi-Fi 6E. The S23 is backed by a 3,700mAh battery while the S23+ has a 4,700mAh battery. Both models are available in the following memory configuration: 8GB + 128GB (S23 only), 8GB + 256GB (S23/S23+) and 8GB + 512GB (S23/S23+).

Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra

The Galaxy S23 Ultra is fitted with 6.8-inch QHD+ Edge display with 120Hz refresh rate and 240Hz Touch Sampling Rate, an embedded S Pen and a new 200MP Adaptive Pixel sensor, which uses pixel binning to support multiple levels of high-resolution processing at once. The rest of the camera setup include a 12MP (f/2.2) Ultra-Wide Camera, 10MP (f/2.4) Telephoto Camera and 10MP (f/4.9) Telephoto Camera. It also has the same 12MP (f/2.2) Front Camera as the S23 and S23+.

The S23 Ultra is available in the following memory configuration: 12GB + 1TB, 12GB + 512GB, 12GB + 256GB and 8GB + 256GB. It offers real-time ray tracing support and vapor chamber for cooling down. Power is supplied by a 5,000mAh battery with wired and wireless fast charging available.
