Samsung unveils Galaxy Tab 4 Education for schools in the US

Samsung has announced the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education, specifically designed to support scalable 1:1 initiative for schools in the US. For the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education, the initiative is based on the Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 with a rugged chasis and supports Google Play for education.

The Galaxy Tab 4 Education was created to address the issue and need of K-12 (Kindergarten – Grade 12) classrooms in terms of access to digital learning resources. With the integration of Google Play for Education, the device gives educators access to wide range of approved apps, materials, videos and books which will help them more personalised learning to students.

On the specification side, the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education features a 10.1-Inch 1280 x 800 resolution WXGA display with corning glass, powered by 1.2GHz quad-core processor, 16GB of internal storage expandable with micro SD up to 64GB, Wi-Fi, NFC, unspecified front and rear cameras and up to 10hours of battery life.

The Galaxy Tab 4 Education is expected to run on Android 4.4 Kitkat with TouchWiz on top, and also Samsung’s popular Multi window is supported. Other optional accessories include Connected USB keyboard, Charge carts for easy classroom storage and AllSharecast for wireless mirroring of content to display.

The Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 Education is available for $370 ($30 for Google Education inclusive) but the Normal Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 10.1 costs $320.
