Samsung announced the Galaxy Note 4 with much fanfare with the device coming in two processor option – either the in-house developed 64-bit enabled Exynos 7 or the Qualcomm Snapdragon 805 chipset.
Both processor option on the device has so far received more kudos than knocks but Samsung is said to be working on a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor option for the Galaxy Note 4. The Snapdragon 810 uses a 64-bit octa-core CPU working in ARM’s big.LITTLE configuration and the new Adreno 430 GPU unlike the Snapdragon 805 which uses a 32-bit quad-core CPU and the Adreno 420 GPU.
Samsung is said to be testing the Galaxy Note 4 Snapdragon 810 variant on major Korean carriers including LG+, SKT and Olleh. It might take some time before we get to see this as the processor is still a way short of mass production amid rumours that it may actually be delayed.
When the Samsung Galaxy Note 4 Snapdragon 810 variant actually debuts we would have the privilege to size it up against the Octa-core Exynos 7 processor as both devices uses the same CPU. Samsung is said to be working on Cat. 10 LTE for the next generation of Exynos SoC which offers download speed up to 450Mbps and could possibly feature on the Galaxy S6 flagship device.
The Samsung Galaxy Note 4 debuted in Nigeria on October 24 and can be purchased for around N150,000 on Konga e-commerce platform in Frost White and Charcoal colour options.
