Samsung Z2 Tizen OS Smartphone Launched in India

After weeks of speculation and leaks, Samsung has finally announced the Tizen OS powered Samsung Z2 at an event in New Delhi, India. The 4G VoLTE enabled entry-level device is majorly targeted at feature phone users and first time smartphone buyers in the country. Check out the full specs below:

The Samsung Z2 is the first 4G enabled Tizen-powered smartphone and positions itself between the Samsung Z1 and Samsung Z3. The device packs extra features such as the Ultra Data Savings (UDS) Mode, S bike mode and the new My Money Transfer. It also features the ‘Make for India’ features developed specifically for Indian consumers.

According to Samsung, the built-in My Money Transfer app enables users to easily manage transactions and generate mini bank statements. They can also enjoy convenient internet free banking by simply using the unique MMID which can be linked to the registered smartphone through M Pin set by the user. Money transfer to/from popular private and public banks is supported using standard IMPS.

Available in Gold, Black and Wine Red colours; the Z2 is priced at Rs. 4590 (US$ 69) and will available starting August 29th. Although it is exclusive to Paytm online, the device can also be purchased offlines from retail stores. Users can also enjoy the Jio Preview offer that offers unlimited access to voice and data along with Jio apps for 90 days.
