South East Asia Telecom (SEATEL Cambodia) has announced its first ever branded smartphone – the SEATEL V8. The entry-level smartphone is currently selling for $49 (although listed for $149) and arrives in Silvery White and Golden colour options.
Running the dated Android 5.1.1 Lollipop OS, the SEATEL V8 sports a 4.5-inch (854 x 480 pixels) FWVGA LCD display and backed by a modest 1750mAh Lithium-ion battery, which should last up to 320 hours on standby. It measures 132 x 65.7 x 9.2 mm in dimensions and weighs in at 164.4 grams.
Under the hood, the V8 is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6735M 64-bit processor clocked at 1.0GHz paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB built-in storage space. For addition storage, there is a microSD slot which support cards up to 32GB.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 5MP AutoFocus camera with LED flash and a front facing 5MP Fixed Focus camera for selfies and video chats. Camera software features includes Gesture Capture and Face beauty Mode.
The SEATEL V8 supports 4G Voice over LTE (4G VoLTE) connectivity and arrives with a free SIM card from the carrier. Other options on the device include – Bluetooth 4.0, Wi-FI 802.11 b / g / n (2.4GHz) and GPS.
