Japanese based, Y! Mobile (a subsidiary of Softbank) has announced the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 mid-range smartphone will go on sale starting February 5, 2016. The carrier will sell the 4G enabled smartphone in Black, Pink, Turquoise and White colours. Pricing details is unavailable yet.
Running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 sports a 5.2-inch S-CG Silicon LCD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and relies on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB Built-in storage space.
For additional storage space, there is a microSDXC card slot for expansion up to 128GB. The device has a single Nano SIM slot, measures 136 x 71 x 11 mm in dimensions, weighs 153 grams and is backed by a moderate 2030mAh battery. Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4), VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC Type A/B and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8-megapixel camera and a front facing 2.1-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. The Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 is IPX5/IPX7 certified i.e it is waterproof and can also survive a drop in water of about 1m (or 3ft) deep for about 30 minutes.
