Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 Mid-Range Smartphone Goes On Sale starting February 5

Japanese based, Y! Mobile (a subsidiary of Softbank) has announced the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 mid-range smartphone will go on sale starting February 5, 2016. The carrier will sell the 4G enabled smartphone in Black, Pink, Turquoise and White colours. Pricing details is unavailable yet. ‎

Running Android 5.0 Lollipop OS, the Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 sports a 5.2-inch S-CG Silicon LCD display with screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (HD) and relies on a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 (MSM8926) processor clocked at 1.2GHz with 2GB of RAM and 16GB Built-in storage space.

For additional storage space, there is a microSDXC card slot for expansion up to 128GB. The device has a single Nano SIM slot, measures 136 x 71 x 11 mm in dimensions, weighs 153 grams and is backed by a moderate 2030mAh battery. Connectivity options onboard includes – 4G LTE (LTE Cat.4), VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC Type A/B and Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n.

In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8-megapixel camera and a front facing 2.1-megapixel camera for selfies and video chats. The Sharp Aquos Crystal Y2 is IPX5/IPX7 certified i.e it is waterproof and can also survive a drop in water of about 1m (or 3ft) deep for about 30 minutes.  ‎
