A new recent survey show that flip smartphones or clamshell smartphones are the new cool in Japan and this is no surprise as Sharp decides to throw another flip smartphone into the available bunch. The Japanese company has officially released the Sharp AQUOS K SHF31 which was announced in January alongside KDDI network.
The Sharp AQUOS K SHF31 features a 3.4-inch (540 x 960 pixels) TFT LCD display, powered by a quad-core Qualcomm snapdragon 400 processor with 1GB of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage. There is a microSD card slot on-board to expand storage (up to 32GB).
Other specs details of the device includes – a 13MP main camera with features such as Night Shot and HDR Mode, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi and runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS with a UI skin ontop to accommodate the phone’s physical form. The device is IPX5/IPX7 certified and is backed by a 1410mAh battery. It measures 17.4mm in thickness and weighs around 128 grams which is rather light for a bulky phone.
The Sharp AQUOS K SHF31 has a feature which is so far exclusive to the Blackberry Passport – it has physical buttons which which allows touch control i.e users can swipe over the keyboard to wake the display without touching the screen always.
