Sharp and Japanese Carrier, NTT DoCoMo has announced the Sharp Aquos Pad SH-05G tablet. In collaboration with the Carrier, Sharp has announced new devices into the Japanese market – we have seen the Sharp Aquos SH-06G flip phone, Sharp Aquos ZETA SH-03G and the Sharp Aquos Ever.
The Sharp Aquos Pad SH-05G is the second tablet around to be powered by the ‘flaming hot’ octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor (four cortex A57 cores at 2.0GHz + four cortex A53 cores at 1.5GHz) and it’s specs can be compared to the Aquos ZETA SH-03G.
It sports a 7-inch (1920 x 1200 pixels) Full HD IGZO LCD display, paired with 2GB of RAM for handling tasks, 32GB space of internal storage and a microSD card slot for storage expansion. The main camera is a 8MP snapper and the front camera is a 2.1MP unit for selfies and video chats.
The Sharp Aquos Pad SH-05G is one of the lightest tablets around at just 210 grams, it is very compact interms of its dimensions at 174 x 105 x 8.0 m, has slim bezels around the display and has a Slim Metal body profile. It would run on Android 5.0 Lollipop OS and is backed by a 3900mAh battery which uses fast charging features.
Connectivity options on the device includes – Dual Band Wi-Fi, LTE-A, Bluetooth, One Seg and Full Seg TV, Infrared connectivity. The Sharp Aquos Pad SH-05G would be available on DoCoMo by Mid-July but the pricing is unknown yet. Like most Sharp products it’s hard to find them outside the company’s home market.
