Japan’s SHARP has announced the AQUOS R2, successor to last year’s AQUOS R with Snapdragon 835 Mobile Platform and 120GHz refresh rate. The SHARP AQUOS R2 will be available later this summer and will arrive in Aquamarine, Coral Pink, Platinum White, Platinum White and Rose Red colours.
Pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo OS, the SHARP AQUOS R2 sports a 6-inch (3040 × 1440 pixels) Quad HD+ IGZO LCD display with 2.5D curved glass display, 19:9 aspect ratio and 100 Hz refresh rate. It also support Dolby Vision as well as Dolby Atmos and Dolby AC-4 for immersive audio experience.
Internally, the smartphone relies on the high-end octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 Mobile Platform paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB UFS storage space (expandable up to 400GB via microSD). It comes pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo OS and depends on a 3,130mAh battery with fast charging.
In the camera aspect, there is a 22.6MP primary sensor paired with a secondary 16.3MP sensor with 135-degree ultra wide-angle lens and a front facing 16.3MP camera for selfies and video chats. The camera setup also includes support for AI Live shutter to take pictures during movie shooting.
The SHARP AQUOS R2 is water and dust resistant (IPX5 – IPX8/IP6X), features a rear fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth 5.0, Dual Band Wi-Fi and 4G LTE connectivity.
