Few weeks after introducing the Sharp AQUOS S3 Mini, the Japanese company has unveiled the long rumoured Sharp AQUOS S3 with fullscreen display and the iPhone X-styled notch which has found its way to newer phones such as the Huawei P20/P20 Pro, Vivo X21, and Oppo R15/R15 Dream Edition.
The Sharp AQUOS S3 has a notched 6-inch FHD+ display with 91% screen-to-body ratio, metal body with 2.5D curved Gorilla glass covering, front facing 16MP camera with support for Face unlock (0.1 sec unlock time), rear fingerprint sensor and USB Type-C port. The main camera setup includes a primary 12MP camera with f/1.75 aperture, 1.4um pixel size, and dual-tone LED flash paired with a secondary 13MP camera with telephoto lens for portrait shots.
Internally, the smartphone is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 octa-core processor paired with 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in storage, which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD. It boots SHarp’s Smile UX (based on Android 8.0 Oreo OS) and power is supplied by a 3,200mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0.
The SHARP AQUOS S3 is available in Black colour only, priced at NT$ 11,990 (US$ 412). It will go on sale in Taiwan starting April 1.
