Sharp Mobiles has released a new AQUOS series smartphone – the Sharp AQUOS sense in Japan. The mid-ranger has a 5-inch TFT LCD (IGZO) display with 1920 x 1080 pixels (FHD) resolution, fingerprint sensor (home button) and a 2,700mAh battery that is expected to last up to 850 minutes of continuous talk time (LTE) and up to 540 hours of continous standby time.
On the inside, the Sharp AQUOS sense comes pre-loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat OS and relies on a 1.4GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 (MSM8937) octa-core processor clocked at 1.4GHz paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage which is further expandable up to 256GB via microSDXC.
Photography is handled by a rear facing 13.1MP AF camera and front placed 5MP camera for selfies. The smartphone is protected against dust (IP6X) as well as low pressure water streams and submersion in fresh water up to 1.50 meter deep for 30 minutes (IPX5/IPX8).
The Sharp AQUOS sense also comes pre-loaded with EMOPA 7.0 – an audio assistant powered by Artificial intelligence (AI) and could be likened to the Google Assistant. It measures 144 x 72 x 8.6 mm, weighs 148 grams, and arrives in Champagne Gold, Frost Lavender, Silky White and Velvet Black colours.
