Months after the acquisition of Taiwan-based Foxconn, Japan’s Sharp has ventured into the Chinese market with the launch of the Sharp C1 and Sharp A1 in Beijing. Sales commences on September 7 by E-commerce website – JD.com for a price tag starting at CNY 1,499 (USD 225).
Sporting a metallic exterior and albeit some changes, the duo – SHARP C1 (FS8001) and A1 (FS8002) are the Chinese version of the Sharp M1 and Z2, respectively launched last month in Taiwan. The operating system installed is Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow but no fingerprint sensor onboard.
Sporting a 5.5-inch LTPS LCD screen, the Sharp C1 has a FHD screen res, octa-core Mediatek MT6753 processor, 3D curved glass back shell, 3GB RAM, and 64GB built-in storage space. Others include – 4G LTE Cat.4, 13MP/13MP front and rear cameras, microSD card slot and a 2600mAh Battery.
The Sharp A1 on the other hand, packs the Deca-Core Mediatek Helio X20 processor, 16MP/8MP front and rear cameras, 4GB of RAM and 32GB built-in storage space. It has the same display as the C1 and is backed by a bigger 3,000mAh battery.
Sharp collaborated with Chinese online video website Iqiyi for users to get six-month Iqiyi VIP membership on the C1 and with LeEco for A1 users to get six-month of LeEco membership.
