Smart Reply Feature in Inbox by Gmail Suggests What to Reply

Google has announced a new feature for the popular Inbox service called Smart Reply. This new feature is a sort of automated response which provide responses to emails and works almost like the keyboards on Android which can predict the next word as the user type based on information learnt from the user.

With this Smart Reply feature in Inbox, users would get short and swift responses to emails thus saving time to be spent on typing. It predicts what the user could reply by scanning through the email and if need be, gives three appropriate response suggestion for the user to choose from.

According to Google, the feature gets to learn from the user’s behaviour and becomes intelligent, so suggestions could become very personal using user’s preferred style over time. These suggestions can be in form of quick answers or phrases. If you are interested in how it works, Google has posted how to make it makes computer respond to email.

Smart Reply is not here to replace the already know ‘long compose message’ but for swift responses and time saving it is a welcome idea to go with. The feature is now available for both Inbox app for both Android and iOS. The feature could find its way to the web version soon.
