To mark the sixth anniversary since establishment, Chinese device maker, Smartisan announced a new premium smartphone called the Smartisan Nut R1 in Beijing, China. The flagship offers up to 1TB of built-in storage and the company also announced the Smartisan Nut TNT Workstation.
Smartisan Nut R1
The Smartisan Nut R1 is built around a 6.17-inch (2240 x 1080 pixels) FHD+ LCD 2.5D curved glass display with 18:7:9 aspect ratio, 84% screen-to-body ratio, 1500:1 Contrast ratio and 96% NTSC color gamut. It is backed by 3,600mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+ fast charging as well as 10W Qi wireless charging.
The dual SIM smartphone is equipped with 12MP (f/1.8, 1.4 μm, 4-axis OIS) + 20MP (f/1.75, 1μm) dual rear cameras with dual-LED flash, front facing 24MP camera with support for Face Recognition (detects up to 1024 facial points), rear fingerprint sensor, stereo speakers and USB Type-C 3.0 port (also audio).
On the inside, the Smartisan Nut R1 comes pre-loaded with Smartisan OS 6 and relies on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 octa-core processor. It is available in four different configurations: 6GB RAM + 64GB storage, 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 1TB storage.
The smartphone also feature Elliptic Labs’ AI-based virtual ultrasound proximity sensor instead of the conventional infrared hardware proximity sensor. It is already available for order in China. Pricing hs been listed below:

Smartisan Nut TNT Workstation
Along with the Nut R1, the company also unveiled the Smartisan Nut TNT Workstation which cannot be spoken in the same vein as the Samsung DeX or DeX Pad. This peripheral connects the smartphone to the display screen via USB Type-C for usage as a PC.
The Smartisan Nut TNT Workstation has a 27-inch (3840 x 2160 pixels) IPS 10-point multi-touch screen with 300 cd/m2 brightness and 100% sRGB, microphone, 3x speakers (2 full-range speakers + 1 low-frequency speaker), Smart Amplifier and front 5MP camera with f/2.0 aperture, 1.4 μm large pixel size.
Port options for the workstation include 3.5mm audio jack, 4 x Full-sized USB 3.0, 2x USB Type-C, display port, HDMI and 3.5mm audio jack. It is available for a hefty feee of CNY 9,999 (US$ 1,570).
