Fresh off announcing a new 2-in-1 Windows 10 Laptop; Indian Startup, Smartron has announced a new high-end smartphone called the Smartron t.phone. The phablet sized device which costs Rs 22999 (US$ 341) will be available from early June from Smartron t.Store and Gadgets360.
Available in Blue, orange, Silver and Violet colour options, the Smartron t.phone sports a 5.5-inch (1920 x 1080 pixels) Full HD AMOLED display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. Under the hood, it is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 processor clocked at 2.0GHz with Adreno 430 GPU, 4GB of RAM and 64GB built-in expandable storage stage.
In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 13MP camera with dual LED Flash, PDAF, 6P lens and f/2.0 aperture while the front camera is a 4MP snapper with f/2.0 aperture. The t.phone packs Hybrid Dual SIM slots (micro + Nano/microSD), supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE as well as 4G LTE, Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
The Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS running Smartron t.phone uses the USB Type-C port and is backed by a 3000mAh battery with Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0. There is no fingerprint scanner onboard.
