SoftBank 503LV: Lenovo’s first Windows phone ‎is Headed For Japan

Japan based carrier, Softbank has teamed up with Lenovo to announce a new Windows OS based smartphone. Dubbed the Softbank 503LV; the new device is the first ever Windows OS Phone from the Chinese manufacturer and is expected to be exclusive to the Japan market but we don’t rule out the device launching under a different name in other markets.

The Softbank 503LV is a relative mid-range smartphone with Windows 10 Mobile OS onboard. It sports a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD TFT LCD display, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor clocked at 1.5GHz with 3GB of RAM and 32GB built-in expandable storage space.

In the camera segment, there is a rear facing 8MP camera with LED and a front facing 5MP camera for selfies and  video chats. The device supports 2G, 3G and 4G LTE networks in Japan, and also the Continuum feature which converts the device in a full blown PC when the needed peripherals are atttached.

Other connectivity options onboard include – Bluetooth 4.0 and Dual Band Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac. The Softbank 503LV measures 71.4 x 142.4 x 7.6 mm in dimensions, weighs in at 144 grams and packs a microSD card slot for expanding storage up to 128GB. The device is expected to go on sale later in of after October in Japan but no word on pricing yet.
