The wearable would be available in 60 countries around the world in September 2015 for a price tag of $132 (€119) in Black and White colour options initially, Indigo and Pink colour options will arrive at later dates.

So what can the Sony SmartBand 2 do? Well, at the core of operation is an accelerometer and optical heart-rate sensor which both combine to measure user’s pulse, from there it derives the fitness, mood and stress level during the day.

The wearable also measures sleep activity and can serve as an alarm when necessary. It is IP68 certified water and dust resistance, the body is made of silicone, the straps are replaceable and pairs to devices via Bluetooth.

All the information from the Sony SmartBand 2 is always stored in the Sony Lifelog app which can be accessed by the connected device in simple easy-to-read charts. It has a vibrating motor and RBG notification LED to deliver notifications; and with tap operations, it can also control music playbacks.

For Sony Xperia devices, the wearable gives a warning when user is going more than 10m from their phones or tablets. Measuring 40.7 x 15.3 x 9.5 mm in dimensions, the Sony SmartBand 2 weighs 25 grams and is backed by a battery (58mAh) which takes about only an hour to charge fully and promises around 48 hours of usage on a single charge.
