It’s been almost three years, if not more that the Sony Xperia P smartphone went official; and years after the device seemingly has a successor coming in form of the Sony Xperia P2. Earlier today, the full specifications of the Xperia P2 surfaced from a Chinese source and detailed the smartphone and compared it side-by-side with the just announced Sony Xperia Z4 smartphone for Japan.
The Sony Xperia P2 is expected to carry on some details off its predecessor, it is said to keep the transparent band below the screen and those effective navigation buttons by the way which are transparent. By the way can you see those super slim bezels?
The Sony Xperia P2 sports the same 5.2-inch 1920 x 1080 pixels TRILUMINOS IPS display as the Xperia Z4. It is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 clocked at 1.9GHz. paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. There is no information if there would be a microSD card slot and the processor is slightly less clocked at 1.9GHz compared to 2GHz on the Xperia Z4.
The Xperia P2 sports a 12.1MP camera with 1/2.3 Exmor RS CMOS, Sony G OGS lens (OIS), 25mm lens with f/2.0 aperture and Dual LED flash; The front camera is a 5.1MP camera. The rear camera records 4K videos and the front camera 1080p videos.
The device measures 137.3 x 67.2 x 10.9mm in dimension with most of the thickness justified by its large 4240mAh battery and the back is listed as measuring from 8.9mm to 10.9mm thick. The Sony Xperia P2 is more of a rumour than a basic fact as the specs sound too good to be true. Or it is possibly a render from a hopeful Sony enthusiast, whatever it is we would know in due time.
