Sony Xperia Z2a With 3GB RAM and Snapdragon 801 SoC Launched

Comparing the efforts of Sony-Ericsson with the standalone Japanese Company Sony would be an eye-sore. Sony which has been agrresive with the release of smartphone with quality hardware and software has announced the Sony Xperia Z2a, which is the international variant of the Sony Xperia ZL2 which has been announced exclusively in Japan. With the only major difference between the Xperia Z2a and the Xperia ZL2 is only related in terms of internal storage as the former has a 16GB storage while the latter has 32GB.

The Sony Xperia Z2a features a 5-inch full-HD LCD Triluminos Display with Mobile Bravia Engine 2 and X-Reality, delivering a pixel density of 440ppi. The smartphone is powered by quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor clocked at 2.3GHz coupled with Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 16GB of inbuilt storage which is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card support.

The Sony Xperia Z2a sports a 20.7MP CMOS 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor with f2/2 aperture and Bionz image processing technology that is capable of recording 4K (3840×2160 pixels) resolution videos. It also comes with a 3.1MP front-facing camera.

The Xperia Z2a like its predecessor runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat, though the rear glass has been replaced with plastic it is still Dust and Water resistant. Connectivity options on the device includes support for 4G LTE (Taiwan LTE bands), 3G, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, NFC, GPS/A-GPS, GPRS/EDGE. The device is powered by a 3000mAh battery.

The Sony Xperia Z2a would be available starting from July in Taiwan in Turquoise, Black and White colour variants. Availability in other markets was not announced though it is expected to be limited to the Asian Market as well as how much the smartphone would go on sale.

Recently, Sony also announced the mid-range Xperia T3 alongside the Xperia Z2a in Taiwan.
