Sony Xperia Z3 Certified By TENAA in China; Specs Details

For months now different details has been spring up about the upcoming Xperia Z3 from Sony, live images had even surfaced, citing very little difference to the Sony Xperia Z2. Lo and Behold, the Sony Xperia Z3 has been certified by TENAA in China listed as the L55t and L55u with different network bands; the L55t supports TD-SCDMA & TD-LTE networks while the L55u supports WCDMA & TD-LTE networks.

The Sony Xperia Z3 is expected to feature a 5.2-inch Full HD IPS display, 3GB of RAM, 16GB of internal storage, a microSDXC card slot for expansion, FM Radio, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, 20.7MP Exmor RS rear camera and a 2MP front camera. The device is expected to be powered by a 2.5GHZ Quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974AC with Adreno 330 GPU.

Taking a look at the differences between the Xperia Z3 and the Xperia Z2; the Xperia Z3 measures 146.5 x 72.4 x 7.4 mm while the Xperia Z2 is 146.8 x 73.3 x 8.2 mm, the former is lighter at 158.4g while the latter weighs more at 163g. Then in terms of the chipset, it has been stepped up from a 2.3GHz Quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974AB on the Z2 to a 2.3GHz Quad-core Qualcomm MSM8974AC on the Z3.

The Sony Xperia Z2 is IP55/IP58 certified, the Xperia Z3 might come with the same feature or could be upped to the IP65/IP68 rating as seen on the Sony Xperia M2 Aqua. The TENAA listing does not include the IP ratings, so this cannot be confirmed as of yet.

Considering the specs, the Xperia Z3 offers slightly significant difference from the flagship Xperia Z2 or like some source call it – an improved Xperia Z2.

Sony has scheduled a press event for September 3 and teased teased its upcoming products – the Sony Xperia Z3, Sony SmaetWatch 3 (SW3) and QX30 smartphone camera lens. We should be able to confirm all that is to be confirmed about this device.
