Sony Xperia Z5 goes official with FHD Screen, 23MP rear camera with 0.03sec AutoFocus and Android 5.1

Sony has announced its next flagship smartphone – the Sony Xperia Z5. The flagship phone was announced at the IFA 2015 event along with the Sony Xperia Z5 compact and Xperia Z5 Premium. It is expected to be available in October 2015 in Gold, Graphite Black, Green and White colour options.

Sony decided to change their camera for Xperia Z5 and it’s other variants – it sports a 23MP camera with Sony’s new large 1/2.3 Exmor RS, F2.0 G Lens, 4K video recording and has a fast autofocus speed around 0.03second. There is also 5x Clear Image Zoom, up to ISO12800 for photos and ISO3200 for videos and SteadyShot with Intelligent Active Mode. The front camera is a 5MP snapper with 25mm wide angle lens. 

Running Android 5.1 Lollipop OS, the Sony Xperia Z5 has a 5.2-inch Full HD display, powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 64-bit processor paired with Adreno 430 GPU, 3GB of RAM and 32GB space of internal storage. There is also a microSD card slot storage expansion (up to 200GB).

Just like the Xperia Z5 Compact and Xperia Z5 Premium, the Xperia Z5 has a fingerprint sensor which is located at the side power/lock button, the USB port and audio jack are capless but the device is IP65/IP68 certified for dust and waterproof.

The device is available in Single SIM and Dual SIM (Sony Xperia Z5 Dual) variants, supports 4G LTE connectivity and is backed by a 2900mAh battery with quick charging plus Stamina mode which is expected to provide up to two days of usage.
