Sony is expected to continue to release new smartphones in the company’s Xperia series come 2016. The Sony Xperia Z6 Lite has joined the list of expected devices from the series and according to various sources, it will cost around US$ 385.
The Sony Xperia Z6 Lite will mark the first time a Lite variant is released in the Xperia Series line. The device sports a 5-inch display with the resolution yet unknown and has a metal back cover. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650 processor (formerly the Snapdragon 618) which has six cores – 2x 1.8GHz Cortex-A72 + 4x 1.2GHz Cortex-A53.
Sony is expected to release a total of six smartphones in the Xperia Z6 line. The expected ones are:
- • Sony Xperia Z6 Mini with 4-inch display;
• Sony Xperia Z6 Compact with 4.6-inch display;
• Sony Xperia Z6 Lite with 5-inch display
• Sony Xperia Z6 with 5.2-inch display;
• Sony Xperia Z6 Plus with 5.8-inch display;
• Sony Xperia Z6 Ultra with 6.4-inch display.
All are expected to be powered by the Quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 SoC with Adreno 530 GPU except the Z6 Mini which uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon 652 SoC and the Z6 Lite with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 650; both also use the Adreno 510 GPU. There is no word yet on the Sony Xperia Z6 tablet which is also a possibility for 2016.
