Japanese phone maker, Sony has launched the Xperia ZL2 (SOL25) in its homeland country Japan by making it available on its official website and would be available on Japanese Telecom operator – KDDI soon. The Xperia ZL2 is the successor of the Xperia ZL and has similar specs with those of the Xperia Z2.

The Sony Xperia ZL2 would run on Android 4.4 KitKat OS with Xperia UI on top, 5-inch 1080p full HD LCD Triluminos Display with Sony Mobile Bravia Engine 2 & X-Reality, 2.3 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 quad-core processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB inbuilt storage expandable up to 128GB with micro SD, microSDHC & microSDXC.
Like its predecessor, the Xperia ZL2 has impressive camera features with 3.1MP front facing camera and f2/2 20.7MP CMOS 1/2.3-inch Exmor RS sensor with BIONZ image processor capable of 4k video recording as the rear camera. The device like other xperia models is dust-proof (IPX5/IPX8) and water proof (IP5X), weighs 167g (16g more than the ZL), measures 137 x 72 x 10.8mm and its availability is in Black, White and Turquoise colours.
In terms of connectivity, the ZL2 includes 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, GPS, Bluetooth 4.0, NFC, and powered by a 3000mAh non-removable battery which delivers up to 1340 minutes of continuous talk-time and 150 minutes of charging time.
Pricing and Availability
The Sony Xperia ZL2 (SOL25) has only been announced and launched in Japan and there is no concrete information as to its availability in other countries. But considering the fact that other Xperia device made it officially into other markets we should expect the Xperia ZL2 in other markets soon.

Sony on Thursday announced the Xperia Z2 in India and included the Sony SWR10 Fitness Band for free, however the Smartband fitness tracker could be purchased separately.
