Leaks Phablet Phones Rumours

Speculated Huawei D8 Specs Ahead of 2016 Unveiling

Huawei is reportedly preparing a new high-end phablet in the D series – the Huawei D8, which will come with higher specs and the price will be a tad higher than the Huawei Mate 8. Previously known as the Huawei Ascend D8, the Android OS running D8 was expected to debut this year according to the company’s leaked road map for 2015.

Moving to the Huawei D8 Specs, the phablet has a 5.5-inch display with QHD or 2K (2560 x 1440 pixels) resolution and a pixel density of 534 ppi. The display (or whole body) will have Sapphire Glass protection. It should be powered by the yet-to-be announced HiSilicon Kirin 960 processor instead of the initial Kirin 950 stated in the past.

It will have 4GB of RAM, 64GB built-in storage space, 4G LTE connectivity support and also expected to run Android 6.0 Marshmallow OS out-of-the-box. Asides the change in processor, the specs are same as the road map unveiled and pricing is in the premium category going as high as US$ 800.

Having shipped up to 100 million smartphones in 2015, Huawei is positioning its Mate, P and D series to rival Samsung’s top shelf devices. The D series will rival the Galaxy S series, the Mate Series will rival the Galaxy Note Series while the P series will tough it out with the Galaxy A series.
