One of the many partners of Mozilla, Spice has announced its first Firefox OS feature phone, the Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1. Firefox is definiely hotting up for the war of feature phone just as Google is, the search giant also announced partnership with Karbonn, Spice and Micromax to bring smartphones under $100 to the Indian market under its Android One Initiative.
The Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 features a 3.5-inch HVGA (480 x 320 pixels) resolution display, powered by a 1.3GHz single-core CPU, Dual-SIM functionality, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, 2G/EDGE connectivity. On the rear is a 1.3MegaPixels camera, a 0.3MP (VGA) front camera.
There is no word on storage, battery capacity but it should be enough to last the device several hours of talktime. Applications like Twitter, Facebook and others comes pre-installed and Firefox Marketplace is available to download apps from.
The Spice Fire One Mi-FX 1 would be available staring August 29th for a meagre Rs 2,299 (about $38) in India at first exclusively on Snapdeal before being rolled out to other retail outlets.
Intex tipped Spice to be the first to launch the Firefox OS feature phone, the Intex Cloud FX, which happens to be the first Feature phone from the company running on Mozilla’s OS.
