Philippines based, Starmobile has announced the Starmobile Engage 7i – a 7-inch ‘Call-and-Text’ tablet powered by the Intel SoFia 3G-R 64-bit processor and runs Android Lollipop OS. It is available in stores for a price tag of Php 3990 (US$ 85) in Silver and Black colours. It is also bundled with with a Smart Bro Super Pack with over Php 2400 (US$ 51) worth of free data for 6 months (P200MB/month for surfing and other apps.
The company decided to go with ‘Call-and-Text’ to highlight the tablet has the basic phone functions. The Starmobile Engage 7i has Dual Regular SIM slots which supports 3G and is backed by a 3000mAh Li-ion battery which could provide up to 10 hours of talk time, and up to 20 hours of standby time.
The tablet sports a 7-inch (1024 x 600 pixels) IPS display with a pixel density of 170ppi and is powered by a 64-bit Intel Atom X3 quad-core processor clocked at 1.0GHz (Intel SoFia 3G-R) with Mali-450 MP4 GPU, 1GB RAM and 16GB built-in storage space. For additional storage, there is a microSD card slot with support for up to 32GB cards.
Measuring 188 x 108 x 9.9mm in dimensions and weighing half a Kilo (500 grams), the Starmobile Engage 7i runs Android 5.1 Lollipop OS and 5MP + 2MP camera combination for both the rear and front cameras. Connectivity options onboard includes – Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, USB OTG, 5-Pin Micro USB and 3G HSPA+.
