Smartphones over the years has been having thinner bezels and as much as possible most OEMS have made progress with very thin bezels on both sides of the display as well as the up and down side of the smartphones. How about a Bezel-Less smartphone?. The concept sounds cool but comes with its own implications as the screen is prone to damage once it drops. Bezels are primarily there to protected all the sides of the display.
A lesser known OEM from China, Subor is claiming the title of the World’s first Bezel-less smartphone or rather like the company says it – “The worlds first dual-4G smartphone without bezels” for its new smartphone – the Subor S3. The S3 has no side Bezels; it makes it a beauty to behold but you have to guard it jealously any slight drop and you can kiss the display goodbye. Who doesn’t like to be first in everything or anything?
The Subor S3 features a 5-inch (1280 x 720 pixels) HD display and has its body covered by Dual Gorilla Glass 3 on the front and the rear. It is powered by a quad-core MediaTek MT6732 processor with 1Gb of RAM and 8GB space of internal storage which is expandable via a microSD card slot.
The S3 has a 8MP main camera with f/2.0 aperture and a 8MP front camera. It measures 141.5 × 70.3 × 7.8 mm, runs on Android 4.4 Kitkat OS and backed by a 1700mAh battery. The Subor S3 is available on sale in China for CNY 1399 (~US$ 225) in Black and White Colour options. It is near impossible for this device to be available outside its home country unless via third party retailer websites.
